What is Net Metering?
During a sunny summer day, your shingles will generate solar energy. Your shingles may generate more than you can use, and that excess is sent back to the grid, also known as your electric meter running backward…
Net metering is a billing tool where excess, unused energy is credited to you. You may use this energy on a cloudy day where your shingles aren't generating anything or during off-peak season.
In many cases, you earn credits on your future invoices and not cash or check for the excess energy generated. We don't want to create a massive amount of credit for you, so we always want to be as close to 100% offset as possible.
