The GAF Timberline Solar Shingle installs like a traditional roof shingle. Our team of roofers quickly nail them down as they would any other roofing shingle. Complete installation requires the same amount of time as a standard roof. The Timberline system comprises both shingles and solar shingles. 

The Tesla roof is replaced entirely with Tesla tiles. Installation can take several days to weeks. The time length depends on how complex your roof is. With increasing complexities comes increasing cost. 

There is a significant difference in warranty, Tesla offers a 10-year roof leak warranty and workmanship warranty and a 25-year panel performance warranty. The GAF Solar Shingle carries a 25-year warranty that covers both the roof and solar product. 

The GAF Timberline system does not require a battery system. However, it easily pairs if you would like to store the energy you generate. Tesla solar will work without a battery. However, Tesla requires a storage battery which adds a considerable cost to the package.
